I am Freddie (Federico) Matranga. I am an Italian photographer based in Switzerland.
Hello, I'm Freddie Matranga, a 35-year-old Italian photographer currently based in Ticino, Switzerland with my girlfriend Francesca and our son Eóghan. I've lived in a few different countries before settling here, including Italy, Ireland, and Australia.
I am a photography enthusiast who enjoys capturing exposures that tell a story, express emotion and show the beauty of a place or a moment.
Photography has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn't until I started experimenting with product photography that I began to take it more seriously. While living in Dublin, I took pictures of food for local restaurants using a second-hand Fujifilm X100T, which was a great camera but not ideal for product photography. So, I upgraded to a Nikon D500 and a couple of primary and zoom lenses, which gave me more flexibility in many situations and allowed me to explore landscape photography as well.
One thing I love about landscape photography is that it takes me to places I may not have discovered otherwise. I enjoy wandering and finding potential locations, intentionally or unintentionally, and trying to capture the best shot possible by waiting for the right conditions.
Aside from landscape photography, I'm also passionate about concert photography. My love for music began at a young age, and I've attended hundreds of concerts with my dad, who is a music fan and journalist. He has written pieces and reviews for famous Italian magazines such as Buscadero and Mescalina, and my photos have been featured in them several times.
